People grapple with power, water crises

JAMMU: As the city grappled on Sunday with heatwave, most parts of Jammu had to spent sleepless nights due to the power curtailments – ranging from 10 to 18 hours.
Locals here said that some of the localities in the city including Channi, Malik Market, Channi Rama, Narwal, Panama Chowk, Rehari and Janipur remained without electricity last night adding to the woes of the residents.
The power crises remained unresolved even on Saturday as the Power Development Department enforced more than ten hours power cuts in some of the areas. The unscheduled power curtailments also affected water supply in some of the localities in the city.
