Geelani, Hassan, Asiya grieved at Wani’s demise
Srinagar, June 19: The chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Tuesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Muhammad Shafi Wani, father of GK Senior Editor Arif Shafi Wani.
Geelani prayed for the deceased and sympathized with bereaved family.
“Due to his continued house arrest, Geelani could not visit the residence of deceased. However, he extended his condolences to the bereaved family over telephone,” a spokesman of the conglomerate said.
He said, the Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar visited the residence of deceased at Dalgate, commiserating with the bereaved family.
Jama’at- e -Islami Jammu and Kashmir has also condoled the sad demise.
In his condolence message, Amir-i-Jama’at Sheikh Muhammad Hassan expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased. Dukhtaran-i-Millat chairperson Asiya Andrabi also condoled the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
