Seeks restoration of Khushal Sar, shifting of Achan garbage dump

Srinagar, June 19: Member Parliament and President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Tuesday toured Srinagar district to examine the problems faced by people.
A PCC spokesman in a statement said Prof. Saifuddin Soz toured Srinagar areas including Nowgam, Panthachowk, Khonmoh, Saida Kadal Ashai Bagh, Rangpora (Buchpora), Alamgari Bazar (Zadibal) Lal Bazar, Saidapora, Wantpora, Sekidafar and Iddgah.
He was accompanied by Khem Lata Wakhloo Chairman Social Welfare Board, Indu Pawar MLA President Mahila Congress, Abdul Gani Khan District President, Shameema Raina Vice President Mahila Congress, Shameema Sopori General Secretary Mahila Congress.
“Prof. Soz spoke to people at various places, met delegations and took note of the problems faced by the people in respect of roads, drinking water, drainage, development of sports fields and parks and sanitation,” the spokesman said.
Soz assured the people that he would invest considerable time to get these problems solved as early as possible. “In Zadibal hundreds of people made passionate appeal to him(Prof.Soz) for restoration of Khushal Sar,” the spokesman said, adding, “Prof. Soz responded very positively and told the people that he would join their movement for conservation of Khushal Sar.”
“At Lal Bazar he visited Achan Garbage dumb and the people of the entire area demanded that this Garbage Dump should be removed to a place which is not hazardous to human health,” the spokesman said, adding, “Prof. Soz assured them that he would discuss this problem with Municipal Authorities and will get this dump shifted to a proper place.”
