Tara Chand visits Sangarmaal City Centre
Interacts with visitors, shopkeepers; appreciates mall’s re-look
Srinagar, June 19: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand last evening visited SDA’s Sangarmaal City Centre here and interacted with hundreds of visitors there.
He was accompanied by Vice-Chairman, SDA and other senior officers of the Authority.
The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with office-bearers of the Sangarmaal Traders Association, who expressed their satisfaction and happiness over the sudden spurt in activity at the shopping plaza. They informed the Deputy Chief Minister that since Sangarmaal festival was launched by SDA from 10th June and is continuing at present, the number of visitors which was only limited to 30-40 persons per day has reached to 30-40 thousand per day which has helped the revival of this shopping mall.
They lauded the efforts of Vice-Chairman Renzushah and his team of officers and engineers who by working round the clock ensured to turn Sangarmaal as hub of the activities for thousands of visitors.
Tara Chand also visited Meeras Mahal exhibition in which four thousand year old tiles have been displayed. Similarly thousands of years old rare manuscripts, hundreds of year old brass, earthen and metal pots, rare coins, silver and brass jewellery of Sultanat period and handmade items with rich historical background indicating co-existence of mutual culture attracted attention of the Deputy Chief Minister. He took keen interest in each and every item and enquired about their historical background.
The Deputy Chief Minister also visited handicrafts bazaar.
