‘ERA spending Rs 92 cr on drainage project in uptown Srinagar’
CEO calls for early completion of schemes, road macadamization

Srinagar, June 20: Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) Saurabh Bhagat Wednesday took a comprehensive review of the three storm water drainage projects being executed by the Agency from Bemina Fruit Mandi to Pohru Chowk.
A spokesman of ERA said the CEO impressed upon engineers and consultants to ensure completion of the drainage projects during the current working season.
The spokesman said GH Ganie, Project Manager, Urban, Kashmir (ERA) informed Bhagat that so far “Rs 92 crores have been spent on mega drainage projects and overall progress of 80 percent has been achieved. This involves construction of 54 kms of drainage network from Pohru-Chowk to Bemina Chowk, divided into three schemes namely-17.6 Km Pohru – Chanapora, 24 Km Rawalpora-Tengpora and 12.8 Km Bemina Chowk to Fruit Mandi.”
Ganai, according to the spokesman, said that work on several crucial road cuts has also been completed.
He also inspected ongoing macadamisation of roads being carried out presently by J&K ERA in several colonies of Hyderpora and instructed engineers to complete macadamisation work within two months
