‘Srinagar is NC’s heart and soul’

Party committed to develop city on international lines: Tanvir Sadiq

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, June 20: National Conference Wednesday said that “Srinagar is the heart and soul of the party” and it is “committed to its holistic development.”
In a statement here, the NC spokesman Tanvir Sadiq said the party is “committed to ensure that the talent of the youth from Srinagar city is explored and avenues for them created for their sustenance and survival.”
Sadiq, according to the statement, was interacting with a large number of youth from the city at the party headquarters. “The youth of Srinagar should be prepared to take a much bigger role in the city developments,” he said.  “National Conference under the leadership of Omar Abdullah is committed that Srinagar is developed on the pattern of an international city. The city is our stronghold and we will ensure its holistic development.”
Tanvir alleged that PDP meted out step-motherly treatment to Srinagar. “People have not forgotten how PDP had almost shifted the civil secretariat from Srinagar to Parihaspora, stalled the urban reform bill to ensure the Government of India does not release the funds,” he said, adding, “Mere city tours and hollow slogans is no development. It is only commitment that works as actions speak louder than words. National Conference is committed to take Srinagar to the heights of development.”
“The Chief Minister is personally monitoring the progress of the development of the city and has firmly directed for early completion of various works,” he said. “ The 24 crore project on a two-km stretch to develop craft bazaars, retail outlets, refreshment kiosks, production centers and battery operated cars is another hallmark towards developing the city and even the success of Sangarmal Mall is another step towards that.”
“The way people have appreciated the major facelift of the city including the installation of traffic lights speaks of our resolve to make Srinagar a world class city, Tanvir said.
