NISAR THAKUR

Islamabad, June 20: The opening up of cross Line of Control travel has come as biggest confidence building measure for retired justice of Pakistan administered Kashmir who was in Srinagar to meet his relatives and came across the message from other Kashmir about passing away of his father.
Justice (retd) Manzoor Hassan Gilani had to cut short his Kashmir visit due to the demise of his father Syed Hassan Gilani who passed away on Tuesday at his home in Muzaffarabad.
The funeral prayers were held at University ground (Upper Adda), which was attended by the people hailing from different walks of life including representatives of civil society, judges, and members of lawyers' community, secretaries, legislators and leaders of various political and religious parties.
Gilani said that he was highly grateful to his friends and colleagues in Srinagar and Delhi whose efforts made it possible to travel back to Muzaffarabad via Chakoti road despite the fact that there was no bus service.
"It is indeed a great CBM that should be appreciated at all levels,” he said adding that this great initiative, taken on humanitarian grounds, helped him to take part in his father's funeral.
