Unemployment all time high in Srinagar: PC
Srinagar, June 20: Peoples Conference Wednesday stated that Srinagar is facing “alarming levels of unemployment” as successive governments in the state have “deliberately hindered the growth of job-creation in the private sector due to brazen corruption.”
In a statement here, a PC spokesman stated that Srinagar “is mistreated by both NC and PDP.” “Both Omar Abdullah and Mufti Muhammad Sayeed made hollow promises of employment and development to the people of Srinagar to exploit the vulnerable sections for electoral gains,” the spokesman said. “Srinagar has been deprived of basic public infrastructure and amenities, pushing the people towards hopelessness and cynicism.”
The spokesman said that “It is the foremost responsibility of any elected government to give prioritized and focused attention to the capital of the state – a city which has a rich legacy of history and culture.”
