Kapran PHC awaits inauguration

Kapran (Verinag): Though the building for the Primary Health Centre (PHC) has already come up in this remote village of south Kashmir but it is still awaiting inauguration due to which patients continue to suffer.
“It has been more than a year now that the building for the upcoming PHC got completed but due to no one inaugurating it the area remains devoid of any health care facility,” locals said.
They said that most of the ailing patients die on way to Community Health Centre (CHC) Verinag, Sub- district hospital Dooru or District Hospital, Islamabad (Anantnag) as they don’t get first aid treatment for lack of any health facility.
“Though we have a sub centre here functioning from a rented building but that sans any doctor,” said Ishrat Ahmad, a villager.
He said the sub centre only comprised of a pharmacist, FMPHW and a nursing orderly and was without any medical supply.
The villagers urged the Health Minister and Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad (Anantnag) to intervene into the matter.
