Road safety campaign launched at Banihal
BANIHAL: Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon has advocated for strict measures to minimize the road accidents and stressed upon police, transport and other concerned departments to synergize efforts in this direction.
The Minister was speaking after launching “Road Safety Campaign”, a joint initiative by 12 grenadiers of RR stationed at Banihal and Jammu Kashmir Traffic Police here today.
The Minister said that loss of precious human lives is a big concern of the government, adding that strategies adopted to reduce vehicular accidents need to be implemented strictly. He said every efforts are being taken to check such kind of tragedies and directed the concerned officers to ensure smooth and safe plying of transport on the roads especially on Banihal-Ramban stretch of the National Highway.
