LG organises Malika-e-Kitchen

Srinagar, June 24: LG Electronics India, a leading home appliances company, organized first round of its Malika –e-Kitchen, a cooking contest, at a local hotel here today. Around 20 contestants participated in the contest.
The participants had brought dishes prepared in the microwave oven along with the recipes.
The dishes were scrutinized as per predefined parameters by a panel of judges comprising Prof Nighat Ara, HOD Home Science Department, Government Women College M A Road and Subhash Thakur, Manager Food and Beverage, Hotel Grand Mumtaz, and another.
Mrs Waseem was adjudged as winner of the contest, while Saliha and Sadia Rashid were declared 1st and 2nd runner ups respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Qayoom, Area Manager, LG said: “Malika-e-Kitchen is an endeavour to showcase LG’s commitment towards Indian consumers by promoting the spirit of healthy cooking.”
Pertinently, Malika-e-Kitchen, a three-stage cooking contest spanning over 3 months, is being organized countrywide.
This year, the contest will be held in around 100 Indian cities.
The contest will offer a “unique opportunity” to the women across the country to exhibit their talent and get a chance to demonstrate their culinary skills at a national level, Qayoom said.
