NCPCR team to visit Srinagar
Srinagar: A three member team from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) will be visiting Srinagar from June 24 to June 28 to discuss the status of the constitution of Juvenile Welfare Boards in various districts, registration of Child Care Homes and setting up of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
The team comprising Vinod Kumar Tikoo, Member NCPCR, Dr. Yogesh Dube, Member NCPCR and Divyakar Pathak, Consultant NCPCR, will also visit a “home for children in conflict with law” in Harwan.
"NCPCR has received a number of complaints from Jammu and Kashmir and felt the need to check how the child protection system operates in the state,'' said Vinod Kumar Tikoo.
The team will also meet Chief Justice M M Kumar, regarding review of the Jammu and Kashmir Juvenile Justice Act, 1997.
