Mufti,Beigh enjoying Wazwan: NC
Srinagar, June 26: National Conference (NC) on Tuesday lashed out Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership for what it termed as “shedding crocodile tears” over gutting of Dastageer Sahab (RA) Shrine at Khanyar in old city.
“At a time when Kashmiris were mourning the gutting of the 200-year old revered shrine PDP leaders, including Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, were enjoying Wazwan and holding deliberations about how to snatch power at hotel Ashoka in Jammu on Tuesday,” the NC spokesman Tanvir Sadiq told Greater Kashmir.
He said that PDP issued a statement soon after the gutting of the shrine on Monday that the party president has cancelled all her meetings for three days to mourn the gutting of the shrine. “Top party leaders, including the patron, having a sumptuous lunch in Jammu shows that they don’t mean what they say and their actions speak louder than words,” he added.
“The PDP has always tried to mislead people by indulging in mere rhetoric rather than being practical. They (PDP) are living in a fool’s paradise by believing that they can befool people by just issuing statements,” Sadiq said. “PDP leaders preferred Wazwan rather than sharing people’s grief.”
