On-line building permission, birth certificates soon: Dy CM
Srinagar, June 28: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has said that Government is contemplating to register and issue on-line building permission and birth certificates to the applicants in a time bound manner and asked the concerned officers to ensure early implementation of the plan to make the system people friendly.
Deputy Chief Minister said this while reviewing the progress of implementation of e-governance programme in Municipal Corporations and Municipal Committees of the State at an officers meeting Thursday, an official handout said.
Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr GN Qasba besides officers from Traffic, Fire and Emergency Services, PHE, Revenue and LAWADA were present on the occasion.
“Tara Chand asked the officers to create necessary infrastructure in their department so that the e-governance programme is implemented more effectively for convenience of general public,” the handout said. The minister said this would bring efficiency in the processing of applications being received in Municipal Corporations and Municipal Committees for granting building permission and issuance of birth certificates and hand minimize the hardships of the people.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that introduction of Public Service Guarantee Act in the State was aimed to provide services to the people in a time bound manner.
