Chairman Power Grid meets Governor
Srinagar, June 29: R. N. Nayak, Chairman and Managing Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. called on N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, at Raj Bhavan here this evening.
Nayak was accompanied by a high level team of the Corporation comprising I. S. Jha, Director Projects, Corporate Office, Gurgaon; S. C. Singh, Executive Director, Northern Region-II, Jammu; and S. K. Sharma, General Manager (Projects), Northern Region-II, Jammu.
During the meeting, Nayak briefed the Governor about the latest position regarding the establishment of various important power grids by the Corporation in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions for the transmission of power supply to different areas of the State, an official statement said.
The Governor particularly referred to the urgent need for the implementation of Srinagar-Kargil-Leh power transmission line.
The Governor stressed his concern about the delays in the completion of the various power grid projects and the laying of transmission lines and urged their completion without any further delay.
