‘Doodhpathri emerging as preferred tourist hub’

Srinagar, June 3: Saying that virgin tourist place Doodhpathri in district Budgam is fast emerging as a preferred recreation spot, former Minister and MLA, Khan Sahib, Hakim Muhammad Yasin today said that Rs 3.26 crore state-of-art Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), Tangnar will be commissioned within 3 months.
Addressing a public gathering at Doodhpathri, after conducting a tour of Khan Sahib Constituency yesterday, Hakim Yasin said that 22 kms road from Bugroo to Doodhpathri is being fully mechanized under Central Road Fund (CRF) scheme for the convenience of visitors.
He asked the concerned implementing agencies to speed up work on various developmental works related to tourism infrastructure in the area so that visitors do not face any kind of inconvenience. He said the virgin tourist place Doodhpathri is bestowed with Nature’s unbound Scenic splendour adding that the place is emerging as a preferred tourist destination after Gulmarg and Pahalgam in coming days.
He asked the officers of Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA) to make full use of the current working season and complete all the under development tourist infrastructure works so that the tourist place is brought on the world tourism map.
He enjoined upon the engineers to upgrade the road communication links leading to Doodhpathri, drinking water and electricity facilities on fast track basis, which, he said was much needed for convenience of the visitors both domestic as well as foreigners, an official statement said.
