10 KILLED IN ACCIDENTS
4 Die In Highway Accident, 2 Bikers On Boulevard

Srinagar, June 4: Ten persons were killed and nine others injured in six road accidents in Kashmir Valley Monday, police said.
A speedy Tavera passenger vehicle bearing registration No. JK01Q 9951 collided with a tanker bearing registration No. JK02N 7349 near Charsoo Awantipora at 7 AM resulting in death of four passengers. The dead have been identified as Muhammad Yusuf Kuchay son of Wali Muhammad Kuchay, Farooq Ahmad Kuchay son of Muhammad Ramzan Kuchay residents of Barsoo Awantipora, Rajendra Korda son of Ramchandar and Bargoie d/o Deenawat residents of Pune, Maharashtra.
Four persons including the two drivers were injured. They were identified as R S Pawar son of Shankar Pawar, Meena Kurad w/o Ram Chandar residents of Pune, Maharashtra, driver Zahoor Bhat son of Gulam Rasool resident of Konibal Pampore and driver Rajendra Singh son of Bhagwan Singh resident of Doda.
The injured have been shifted to SKIMS Srinagar.
All of the accident victims from Pune belong to a single family. “Accidents have become a routine here because the road is only 15 to 20 feet wide. We apprised the authorities several times but to no avail,” locals said.
In other accident, a speeding motorcycle hit one Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Sindhoo Shirmal Shopian near Haal village at 10 AM killing him on the spot. “However the motorcyclist fled from the spot,” reports said.
“We have registered a case in this regard. The accused motorcyclist has fled away from the spot. We are looking for him,” a police officer told Greater Kashmir.
On Boulevard Road in Srinagar, two bikers were killed when they hit each other.
A 55-year-old man died in a collision between two cars in Ganderbal district.
In north Kashmir's Baramulla district, a 23-year-old motorcyclist and the pillion rider died when their bike was hit by a trawler near Pattan town, police said.
Three persons suffered injuries when their cab hit a truck on Srinagar-Jammu highway near south Kashmir's Qazigund town, they said.
