K-resolution will bring prosperity: Shafi Uri
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 4: Emphasizing that peace will facilitate economic prosperity and financial self-reliance, senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member Parliament, Muhammad Shafi, Monday said that once Kashmir issue is resolved, people will heave a sigh of relief and the state will achieve prosperity.
Welcoming the foreign secretary-level talks between New Delhi and Islamabad, Shafi said it will help resolve basic political issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
Muhammad Shafi Uri said; “National Conference (NC) has always supported Indo-Pak relations and facilitated a meaningful dialogue in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere.”
The NC leader said the party has repeatedly stated that the economic development cannot resolve and replace the political issues. “Both have their significance and need to be addressed separately and in specific spectrums. We will create an atmosphere where the state becomes prosperous and peaceful,” he said in a statement.
Reminding people of the “glorious history” of National Conference and its ways of ensuring communal harmony and equitable development of the three regions of the state, the senior NC leader said, “Efforts are on to bring about socio-economic transformation in the state along with peace and political stability and regional prosperity.”
Enumerating the various path-breaking initiatives by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he said that during last three years the government has taken the state to path of development and progress. He said, “The Public Service Guarantee Act, Panchayat Raj, Right to Information Act, Accountability Commission and Vigilance Commission are major highlights of the Omar Abdullah-led government.”
Shafi, also the Chief Spokesman of NC, said his party has always favored that all the traditional routes with Pakistan should reopen immediately. “Once the traditional road links are open, it will help the business community of both the countries to excel in trade,” he said.
