Kabir Jayanti celebrated with gaiety

JAMMU, JUNE 4: The 614th Prakash Diwas of mystical saint and poet, Kabir Das was celebrated in Jammu with religious fervour and gaiety. The devotees organised a Shoba Yatra which passed through different localities of the city of temples.
Besides, devotees in large numbers visited Kabir Temple situated at Janipur and paid obeisance.
Massive Shoba Yatra with huge tableaus depicting scenes from the life of the saint was accompanied by thousands of devotees amid chanting of religious slogans and singing devotional songs.
Headed by former minister and Kabir Sabha chairman, Mula Ram, the religious procession started form Satwari Chowk in the morning and passed through various places including Main Stop Gandhi Nagar, Bikram Chowk, KC Morh, Shakuntla, and Amphala. The procession culminated at Kabir Temple Janipur.
The Sabha also felicitated the recently selected candidates from the community in various professional entrance tests, meritorious students of class 10th and 12th, besides the community youth who cracked the IAS and KAS competitive examinations.
Sabha president, F C Bhagat moved a resolution demanding that the Kabir Jayanti be declared as Gazetted Holiday.
He urged upon the community members to live in harmony and spread the message of brotherhood amongst all the religions and communities.
