Srinagar, June 5: The City has one more reason to rejoice summer this year. Jashn-e-Bahaar, a production of Time Code, is expected to give some food-for-thought in an entertaining way on June 9 at Kashmir University’s main auditorium in the City.
Moved by “deteriorating traditions and culture and growing social ills”, a group of four --- Sibath Qureshi, Abrar Ali, Rayees Mohi-ud-Din and Shehla Arif –has come up with ‘Jashn-e-Bahaar’, an event to “hold mirror to people of Kashmir in the most entertaining way.”
“This event will aim at valuing our art, preserving culture and appreciate those golden hands of Kashmiri artisans,” says Sibet Qureshi, a mass communications graduate.
The event’s mascot, Funtoosh, a colorful red-and-white clown, has already attracted attention of people on the streets of Srinagar with his unique features.
Besides locals, the organizers are hopeful to attract tourists too. “The event will provide a chance to tourists to have first hand account of our rich tradition, culture and heritage,” says Abrar.
The ‘Jashn-e Bahaar’ shall put forth the real picture of beautiful Kashmir through live and exclusive illustration of Kashmir’s famous social and cultural history. Greater Kashmir has media partnered the event.
