Islamabad produces 31,000 ton milk, 10 mn eggs

Islamabad (Anantnag), June 6: This district has produced 31,000 ton of milk and 10 million eggs during last few months.
 During the period, Department of Animal Husbandry has been able to conduct 15800 artificial inseminations, 550 castrations in the district, an official statement said. As many as 42,450 vaccinations were conducted, 49,600 dozings performed and 28,800 cases treated against different ailments in the district during the period, it said.
 Under poultry development programme, 7,83,000 dozes of vaccine were administered to the poultry birds.
 While as 160 backyard poultry units and 12 broiler units have been set up in the district, 2800 breeding birds have also been distributed under Rural Backyard Scheme.Similarly, about 2800 breeding birds were sold to the farmers.
