Tangmarg College holds Mehfil-e-Mushaira

Srinagar: Government Degree College Tangmarg Wednesday organized a day-long Mehfil-e-Mushaira. The event was held in collaboration with Young Welfare and Cultural Forum Tangmarg in the college auditorium.
 A statement issued here said the first session began with the recitation of Qu’ranic verses by a college student which was followed by Afsana/Muqala on Sufi poet Anwar War.
 Prof. Syed Mustafa presented a keynote address on the occasion. “In the second session the contribution of Shaad Dardipuri was recognized. He was awarded a citation and a shawl by Chief Guest Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Principal of the College. In the third session around 20 young poets of the areas read out their poetry. The sessions were chaired by Tanha Nizami, Shaad Dardipuri and Khan Azeem respectively,” the statement said.
