We the unpredictable
We blow hot and cold in the same breath. What an amazing creation are we?
PARADOX
TARIQ DARSAROO
We are an amazing creation. Our actions are chaotic. We live, and stand by the cause, we believe in. We are equally charismatic in our presentation. Ours is a view, which is unique, and distinctive. In most sophisticated terms, we are a paradox in ourselves. We deny which is undeniable and act to mutilate the fact. At times, we turn emotional, our promises remind us of our pledges. We do our best, to prove our loyalty to the long cherished dream. Though, we try to distance ourselves from the facts yet we are the part of all those experiences that have created a feeling of alienation, and bitterness amongst many schools of thought. We have lost three generations to the public uprising. We have extended moral, material and ethical support to our national cause. We have set forth some ideals, which continue to haunt us till today. World has recognized us an oppressed nation. Humanists have understood the gravity of our pain and socialists have recognized our sentiment. World at large feels the need to resolve the growing differences between the two nuclear nations, associated with our sentiment.
We have witnessed the brutality of bullets. Blood of innocence still bleeds profusely. We have thousands of unknown graves. Humans were subjected to grave injustice, thousands were slaughtered, and there seems no end to this tragedy. Gun took an ugly form in Kashmir. Even the indigenous forces turned brutal and tuned their guns at us. In spite of all these differences, we as nation braved every challenge. Even at the odd hours, we have proved to the world that bullet can’t subdue us, fear can’t discourage us. Without much hope we continued to romance with the uphill task. In charity we have no parallel. When we give, we give wholeheartedly. We recognize every alien as a guest and have proved our hospitality to him or her. Every new killing infuses violence in us but within a short span of time our emotions cool down and hollow slogans collapse to ground. It is one side of the coin, the other is quite astonishing. We forget everything in a flash. We make promises to break them. We oppose the accession but we legitimize Indian electoral system, in fact, we put strong faith in it. We carry funerals of freedom fighters, but the day next we sing hymns in favour of mainstream politicians and even canvass for certain vested interests to ensure their victory in elections. We change our loyalties, our commitments.
We are an unpredictable nation. A certain psychological disorder works well within our psyche. We have no parameters to distinguish between good and bad. We suffer from disorder that is why we act under constant confusion. We take honour to be in the company of those mainstream politics whom we yesterday protested against. We accrue out public functions for them. We are a weak creation and we could be lured easily. We have no criteria to judge ourselves. We have laid thousands of lives and now we find an excuse to give up.
Our leaders are like us. They too have learnt certain jargons to exploit the already exploited nation. When we go along a path, we go whole hog in that direction. We know how to change ourselves, with the direction of the wind. We feel no moral conflict in changing our political ideology. We have shocked the world community by our abnormal behavior. Every four people in Kashmir form a separate opinion about Kashmir imbroglio. Religion to us is a matter of personal concern and not a collective conscious. We prune religion as per our own wishes and whims, and don’t let it to overpower us. The decades old slavery has taught us to behave like slaves. We are a unique creation, even heavens fail to judge us!!!
