8th National Deaf Chess Championship concludes

Srinagar, June 8: The 8th National Deaf Chess championship concluded on Friday at Government Women’s College, M.A. Road here.
The championship was first of its kind in JK in which a number of teams from outside the state participated.
The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among winning teams.
First three prizes of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1500 were given to M.K. Alaguraja (Tamil Nadi), Pankaj Kumar (West Bengal) and Sanjay Gupta (Delhi) respectively among male individuals while same prizes were also given to female individuals which include Malika Handa (Punjab) First, R. Aparna (Tamil Nadu) Second and Renu Bala (Delhi), Third.
