Govt to construct receiving station at Kachnumbal
Srinagar, June 8: The Minister of State for Power and CA&PD, Shabir Ahmad Khan, on Friday said the Government would construct a Receiving Station at Kachnumbal Kangan to augment the power supply in the area. He said in this regard a detailed project report of Rs 2.60 crore has already been forwarded to Planning Department for funding.
The Minister during his day-long tour to Ganderbal district inspected various power projects including 20 MVA Grid Station Kangan, 10 MVA Receiving Station Kangan, 6.3 MVA Receiving Station Manigam and took stock of the functioning of these power projects. He instructed concerned authorities to ensure maintenance of these assets and ensure scheduled power supply to the consumers besides keep close vigil on power pilferage and organize awareness campaign for consumers regarding benefit of installation of electric meters.
The Minister during inspection checked the attendance of the staff at Grid Station and Receiving Station Kangan. He inquired about the functioning of these stations and instructed concerned staff to ensure proper handling of these stations besides directed them to remain punctual to their duties for convenience of consumers.
The Minister also chaired a meeting of PDD and CA&PD officers and reviewed Yatra arrangements made by these departments for convenience of Amarnath Yatris at Baltal base camp and enroute to the Cave.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure well in time restoration of power supply at Baltal and Domail Yatra camps well in time. He was apprised that 11 KVA transmission line have been restored up to Nelgarah and restoration work of 11 KVA transmission line from Nelgrah to Baltal and Domail is apace and would be restored fully up to June 10. He was also informed that a new DG set of 125 KVA DG set stored at Baltal for installation while as two more DG sets would be also kept available at the base camp for providing improved electricity facility at the camp sites in the area.
