Hurriyat (G) for probe into mysterious killings

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, June 8: Expressing serious concern over the recent mysterious civilian killings, the Hurriyat Conference (G) on Friday demanded an impartial probe into these incidents.
“Nothing can be said with certainty about the people involved in these killings. Who are these people and what is their objective?  Nothing can be said about it. However, we can only say that such incidents can have a negative impact on the ongoing struggle. These can provide a good opportunity to agencies to kill anyone,” said a Hurriyat spokesman.
Citing the example of Al-Faran case, the spokesman alleged that in the past agencies were found involved in such killings. “Many a good people were killed in the past and blame was shifted on unidentified gunmen,” said the spokesman, adding “Hurriyat Conference has been from the very beginning demanding that all mysterious killings should be investigated by some international agencies.”
“Today we again repeat our demand for it. Since Kashmir is a conflict zone, the international community needs to play a role to ensure safety and security of the civilians living in it and expose those involved in the killings of civilians,” he added.
The spokesman said: “We cannot rule out the possibility of the involvement of the people in these killings who are apparently the friends of Kashmir cause, but these people need to bear in mind that Islam has ordained certain principals and regulations for war and every Muslim fighter is supposed to adhere strictly to these principals. They cannot target anyone who is not involved directly in military war. They cannot punish anyone without establishing his crime through reliable investigation. There is also no room in Islam for killing a person for having political and ideological difference with him or her.”
