No readymade solution to K-issue: Vakil
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 8: Former Minister and member of All India Congress Committee Abdul Gani Vakil Friday said that no single party can claim to be in possession of a readymade solution to the vexed Kashmir issue.
“To resolve this issue people of different thoughts from three regions of the state have to be taken on board, Article 370 is to be strengthened and those communal forces bent upon dividing the state are to be kept at bay,” Vakil, according to a statement, told party workers at a convention here on Friday.
w Vakil said the “divisive forces favoring abrogation of Article 370 are the enemies of state and trying to weaken state's relation with Centre.” “But Congress will leave no stone unturned in defeating the evil designs of these forces,” he said. "We need to have a consensus on Kashmir situation after which something concrete and an acceptable solution could be hammered out.”
Vakil said “no single party can claim to resolve this issue for the reason that everyone has to be taken on board. I appeal the All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders to come to negotiating table to resolve this vexed issue.”
Drawing the attention of state government towards “stagnated development”, Vakil urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to prioritize development works so that their benefits reach to the deserving people. “There is a dire of need of expediting all development works in the state and also take up those works which have been abandoned midway for no genuine reasons,” he said.
Vakil said “there is a dire need of checking corruption at all levels so that Central funds meant for state reach down the grassroots level.” “Bureaucratic hurdles must be done away with so that people have direct access to the government,” he said.
