Gujjar Mahasabha delegation calls on Antony
Srinagar, Mar 11: A delegation of JK Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha under the leadership of its president Eshfaq ur Rehman Poswal, met the Defence minister, AK Antony in New Delhi.
The delegation, according to a statement, highlighted the various issues pertaining to the tribal people of the border areas JK.
“They briefed the bravery and sacrifice of the tribal people for the cause of the nation. The delegation added that though at the time of the turmoil the tribal people always fought for the cause of the nation, but in the time of calm their sacrifices are always forgotten and their demand are always avoided,” the statement added.
Poswal demanded rehabilitation for poor tribal people of the border areas of the state. The delegation members demanded for the special recruitment rally in Army for the poor tribal youth.
The Defence Minister, according to the statement told the delegation that the bravery and exemplary tasks of the community shall always be remembered and assured them that all possible steps would be taken for their betterment
