Murtaza Khan resigns from BAC
Jammu, Mar 15: PDP Senior leader and MLC Murtaza Ali Khan on Thursday tendered his resignation from the membership of Business Advisory Committee in the Upper House against the non inclusion of Home Department in the discussion in the Legislative Council.
In a statement MLC Murtaza Khan Said: “A meeting was held on March 13, 2012 to select various issues regarding discussions on grants to various departments in the Upper House as there was no discussion since then. In the meeting as many as seven departments including CAPD, Education, Revenue, Agriculture, Home, R&B and Tourism were selected to be discussed on different dates. The report of the committee was presented in the house on March 14 when certain members proposed that some more departments may be brought under discussion in the council.”
The meeting, he said, was rescheduled for today. The majority of the member of business advisory committee comprising Khalid Najeeb Suharwardi, Vijay Bakaya, Jahangir Mir, Ravinder Sharma, headed by the chairman of Legislative Council made a proposal that instead of the Home department the Medical education department be discussed. Muratza Ali khan opposed the proposal and demanded that Home being the most important department be discussed.
However the members of the ruling coalition remained adamant to drop the Home department. On this Muratza Ahmad Khan tendered his resignation from the BAC.
