Plantation drive held
Srinagar, Mar 15: With the advent of spring the Social Forestry Department today launched a plantation drive in the City.
Officials said the department organized a ceremonial tree plantation of conifer trees at Simin Rose Garden Montessori School Baghat Barzulla.
On the occasion, the DFO Social Forestry Division Srinagar Abdul Hamid Bhat stressed on the need to plant trees. “I advise the students to carry forward the mission of afforestation to its logical conclusion for the benefit of future generations,” Bhat said.
The students also participated in essay writing and drawing competition about the importance of tree plantation for survival of mankind.
Among others, the function was attended by Chairman National Society for Water Resources, Wetlands and Forests Nazir-Be-Nazir and Principal of the School Namitullah.
