Syed Meerak Shah Road Widening
Residents demand adequate compensation
Srinagar, Mar 15: Householders and Shopkeepers Association Khayam Chowk on Thursday urged the Government to provide them adequate compensation before asking them to vacate their properties.
A spokesman of the Association said, “Government wants to carry out the road widening of Syed Meerak Shah Road from Dalgate to Zakura and for it our property has to be dismantled.”
“The value of our shops and houses in the area is in crores but compensation offered by the Government is too meager.”
The spokesman alleged that officials have threatened them of dire consequences if they fail to vacate their properties and don’t accept the compensation that is being offered to them.
