At Khanyar foundation laying, Sagar speaks City development

Srinagar, Mar 16: The developmental projects taken in hand during last three years for the development of Srinagar are at various stages of completion and Government is closely monitoring these developmental projects.           
 This was stated by the Minister for Rural Development, Parliamentary and Panchayat Raj, Ali Muhammad Sagar while addressing a public gathering after laying foundation stone of two storey building for Gousia Public Library at Baba Demb, Khanyar.           
 Speaking on the occasion, Sagar said that work is on progress on Rs 57 crores expansion project of Khanyar shrine. He said that one block for a male has been completed while rest of the project is nearing completion.  “He said that various road widening projects including prestigious Syed Mirak Shah road project, which is coming up at Rs 350 crore, Zakura road project, circular road project besides community halls, play fields and other public utilities are coming up in the Srinagar city,” an official handout said.
 The Minister said that an expansion project for Jamia Masjid, Srinagar is under progress. The project is coming up at Rs 5 crore.
 He said that expansion project for Khankah Moula is also under consideration. He said that project for beautification of Jhelum is in progress and would soon be completed to make Jhelum a beauty to be proud of as it was in yore.            Sagar said that Government was making every effort to combat the unemployment problem in the state and many schemes were lately introduced by the Omar led government for the benefit of unemployed youth.
 He said that a scheme for the upliftment of artisans is under active consideration of the government which will go a long way in uplifting the socio-economic status of the artisans.           
 The Minister said: “Some opposition parties are indulging in mudslinging and negative propaganda against our Government which is far from truth.”
 He said this falsehood needs to be rejected.  The Minister was accompanied by ex-Mayor, Salman Ali Sagar and Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr GN Qasba.
