Junior State Ski Championship from today

Srinagar, Mar 16: The 12th Junior Ski and Snowboarding Championship organised by Winter Games Association of JK is starting in Gulmarg from Saturday.
In the event competitions of both boys and girls categories would be conducted in different age categories. The competitions in skiing will be held in four Olympic recognized age groups: 10-12 years (K), 13-14 years (K1), 15-16 years (C 1) and 17-18 (C2), while the Snowboarding shall be open up to the age of 18 years.
The participants will have to arrange their own equipment. The Association however, will try to arrange it through any organization.
All the participants have been asked to report at Tourism Ski Shop on March 17 in the forenoon.
Skiers and snowboarders who perform well in the competitions will be selected for advanced coaching camps and for future major sporting events to be held during 2012-13. They will be also considered for future national championships to be held in 2013.
