Police organise blood donation camp
Srinagar, Mar 20: In a humane gesture, Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel participated in a blood donation camp in the Armed Police Complex at Zewan today.
A police spokesman in a statement said the blood donation camp was organized to provide blood to patients during emergencies and urgent requirement of blood in SMHS Hospital.
He said Jawans of Armed, IRP Police Battalions and subsidiary training centre-Sheeri voluntarily donated about 200 points of blood in the camp, which was jointly organized by Department of Hematology, Police Hospital,Srinagar, SMHS Hospital Srinagar and Sub Police Hospital, Zewan.
The event was supervised by the Inspector General of Armed/ IRP Police Kashmir Rauf-ul-Hassan. Principal Government Medical College, Superintendent SMHS Hospital, Srinagar and other senior doctors of the hospital. “The senior citizens who were present on the occasion appreciated the people friendly gesture of Police which demonstrates the concern of police for saving precious human lives of their brethren in the society,” the spokesman added.
