2 die, 3 injured in road mishaps
Srinagar, Mar 22: At least two persons died while three others were injured in different road accidents across Kashmir Valley today.
A girl was killed after being hit by a speeding tipper at Kaloosa in Bandipore town today.
The deceased was identified as Khusboo (13) daughter of Bashir Ahmad Dar. The driver managed to escape from the spot.
Greater Kashmir reporter for Bandipora Suhail Ajmal said soon after the incident, people took to streets and demanded action against the accused. Angry mob late set the tipper on fire and also pelted stones on a fire tender injuring a fireman identified as Mudasir Ahmad Lone
Meanwhile a police spokesman in a statement said a boy identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Khan son of Muhammad Maqbool resident of Mujgund Parimpora fell down from a 407-passenger (JK01D/7750) near Hajibagh. He succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital.
Police said a Maruti Car (JK01C/4352) met with an accident near Silk Factory Rajbagh resulting in injuries to driver of the vehicle Ubaid Manzoor Khan son of Manzoor Ahmad resident of Saraibala Srinagar. He was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
Police said a tipper (JK01N/6245) and motor cycle (JK01N/1642) collided near Chanabal Pattan, resulting in injuries to Motor Cyclists Abid Ahmad Bhat son of Basher Ahmad and Owais Rashid son of Abdul Rashid resident of Mujgund Srinagar. They were shifted to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for treatment.
Police has registered cases of rash and negligent driving against the erring drivers and taken up investigations.
