Govt approves engagement of 43000 casual labourers
Jammu, Mar 22: Minister for Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik has said the government has approved engagement of 43000 educated youth on casual basis in various departments, adding the operational modalities for the proposed engagements are being worked out by the respective departments.
This was stated by Abdul Gani Malik in reply to a question by Harshdev Singh in Legislative Assembly here today.
He said 10,000 each unemployed youth would be engaged as casual labours in Power Development and Public Health, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments, while as 6,000 each in public works and School Education Departments, 8,000 in Rural Development, 2,000 in floriculture and 1,000 in Forest departments.
The Employment Minister said necessary steps are being taken to fill up the 52076 vacant posts of gazetted, non-gazetted and class-IV employees. He said most of these posts have been referred for selection to different recruiting agencies with the instructions that selection process should be speed up and completed in time bound manner.
