LD nursing supervisor held with stolen baby
Theft Hasn’t Occurred In Our Hospital: MS

Pulwama, Mar 22: Police today claimed to have arrested a female nursing supervisor of Lal Ded hospital from Pulwama district for allegedly stealing a new born from the maternity hospital in the Srinagar.
“We arrested the nursing supervisor Nigeena Bano wife of Muhammad Maqbool Khan and recovered the 5-day-old female child from her home at 11.30 AM. Nigeena had to sell the infant to some persons,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarter Pulwama, Sajjad Hussain told reporters here.
“During investigation, Nigeena revealed that she tried to sell the child to some persons, who refused citing certain reasons,” the DSP said.
The DSP said, Nigeena further revealed that she was assisted in the thefts in LD by another nurse. “I was also assisted by my sister, Shahzada and another lady residing at Prichoo Pulwama,” Nigeena told the police during investigation.
“We are investigating the matter thoroughly and hope we will be able to break the nexus in LD and other hospitals,” DSP said. Police has filed an FIR No. 73/212 Under Section 365 RPC.
When contacted, Lal Ded hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr Mushtaq told Greater Kashmir that, “The theft hasn’t occurred inside our hospital.” ‘We don’t know wherefrom the nursing supervisor has got the infant,” the MS said.
“I have no knowledge about this. There is no case of any stolen baby in our hospital. However, I shall confirm then the action would be taken accordingly” Dr Mushtaq said.
