Plantation drives held
Srinagar, Mar 22: The District Officer Soil Conservation Department, Budgam observed World Arbor Day in collaboration with Government Degree College Budgam today
The NSS volunteers and students of the college participated in the plantation drive Meanwhile, functions were organized by the Floriculture Department, Baramulla in collaboration with the Social Forestry Division, Baramulla at Women’s Degree College, Boys Degree College, Sopore wherein the District Development Commissioner, Baramulla. Bashir Ahmad Bhat participated as Chief guest.
The DDC Baramulla planted Chinar saplings in the College compound at Sopore.
He impressed upon the authorities to involve the general public for plantation drive so that ecological balance is maintained.
At Pulwama, a function was organized in the premises of Administrative Complex Pulwama, yesterday. On the occasion, the DDC Pulwama, Shafat Noor planted a Chinar tree and launched the plantation drive programme in the district.
The Degree College Tral today celebrated the World Arbor Day by launching a plantation drive in the college campus. The drive was carried out by the NSS volunteers.
