Fire in Dachigam National Park
Srinagar, Mar 23: A forest fire broke out in parts of Dachigam National Park, home of endangered Kashmir Stag (Hangul), at arwan in the outskirts of the City last night.Fire tenders have rushed to the forest area to douse the blaze, a police spokesman said, adding further details were awaited.The endangered Kashmir Stags have diminished from thousands in early 20th century to just 218 now.Meanwhile later in the evening Forest Protection Force and the Wildlife officials said the fire has been put under control.Range Officer Dachigam, Syed Shamas UD Din said the fire has been completely doused.
