JKLF( R) seeks int’l intervention in HR abuses
Srinagar, Mar 24: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karatey has urged the member countries of the UN to take note of alleged human rights violations by the armed forces in Kashmir.
“Majority of the member countries including India recently passed a resolution in the UN Human Rights Commission session in Geneva against Sri Lanka for human rights violations. But these countries never passed a resolution against India notwithstanding that its armed forces indulged in worst human rights abuses in Kashmir,” said Bita Karatey in a statement today, appealing to the heads of the international human rights organizations to take note of the human rights violations allegedly committed by the armed forces in Kashmir, plight of political detainees in jails and deleterious effects of black laws in vogue in Kashmir.
He has also appealed them to conduct investigation in the unnamed graveyards.
Meanwhile, Front has strongly condemned the alleged torture death of 22 year old youth Sajjad Ahmad Dar of Sangrama Sopore who was detained in sub jail, Kupwara, under PSA.
Bita also felicitated the Government and people of Pakistan on the Pakistan Day.
