‘Changes suggested in Rehabilitation Policy’
Jammu, Mar 28: Jammu and Kashmir government has suggested some changes in the existing Rehabilitation Policy, which has so far failed to ensure the return of youth from Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK).
“1030 applications were received under the policy, announced by the state government and out of these applications 67 cases were processed and cleared”, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, adding, “Fairly admitting not a single youth out of these 67 have been able to return so far, due to various reasons”.
“We have to understand that the policy does not suit our neighboring country, which is making all efforts to ensure its failure”, Omar said adding, “We do not accept these youth to return and face threats as such we are talking to the centre to remove the difficulties and to ensure that some provisions are made to ensure the return of these youth from across the border.”
