Usman supports ongoing protest
Slams MLA for not reaching out to people
Bandipora, Mar 28: Ex-Minister and senior Congress leader Usman Majeed on Wednesday expressed serious concern over no development taking place in this north Kashmir district.
“Bandipora is lagging far behind in all the respects, which has forced transporters, traders and common people to take to streets,” Usman said in a statement.
“Due to lack of vision number of bus stands were established in every nook and corner of the township which has created chaos among traders, transporters and common people. We are facing the same situation which we were facing five years ago when Bandipora was a tehsil” he added.
“Bandipora has witnessed only one change i.e. a Tehsildar has turned into Deputy Commissioner and SHO to SP. People are facing lot discrimination from all the sides,” he added.
Supporting the strike of traders and transporter against the district administration, Usman said, “Administration should come forward to solve the problems of the people who are facing hardships due to their lackadaisical approach.”
"If the problems faced by people are not solved immediately it will have far reaching consequences,” he said. “This has all happened due to failure of the local MLA to reach out to people.”
Usman said that people from all the walks of life are supporting the transporters and traders, who have raised their voice against “political tyranny.”
"There are some leaders in our area who are responsible for weakening the people of Bandipora. Our MLA has achieved nothing other than the notoriety due to his anti-people policies,” Usman said.
