Petrol pump fined Rs 10,000
Srinagar, Mar 29: A petrol pump near Athwajan bypass was fined Rs 10,000 for allegedly tampering the fuel delivery system because of which the consumers were getting less of the oil product.
“The team of officials from Legal Metrology department under the supervision of Dy Controller(Enforcement) found that the dispensing pump was issuing short-delivery of 40 ml in every 5 litre measure which is beyond the permissible limits,” an official handout said.
Assistant Controller, Kewal Krishan booked the Manager and proprietor of the pump on spot under section 39 of the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1997, it added.
