Wildlife Deptt organises awareness campaign in G’Bal
Srinagar, Mar 4: Department of Wildlife Protection organized a comprehensive campaign about the need to safeguard eco-system and wildlife species in Ganderbal district.
The Wildlife Warden Central Imtiaz Lone said the objective of the campaign was to increase public awareness and knowledge of the value of biodiversity including Hangul, its threats and actions that will conserve wildlife in natural areas of Wangath, adjoining areas Sonamarg and Kangan of district Ganderbal.
People from all walks of life including Gujjars participated in the interactive sessions on range of themes related to peoples’ problems due to rising man-animal conflicts and their awareness on the issues. The campaign which lasted for three days comprised of various issues including man-animal conflicts and future of wildlife conservation, public awareness and capacity building on wildlife conservation.
