Jammu, Mar 6: Nearly half a dozen people were injured when two groups clashed in border town of Rajouri during a religious procession.
Reports said that members of one community took out a religious procession from the Sanatan Dharam Sabha and when it reached the Bus stand area there was a heated argument between the two groups. Soon both the sides indulged in stone pelting which lasted for more than an hour.
Later police reached the spot and used force to disperse the crowd. Reports said that situation is tense in many localities of the town and administration has deployed additional forces to restore peace.
Pertinently, tension has been prevailing in Rajouri town after president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Praveen Togodia visited the area a few days back and delivered an inflammatory speech.
