Banks told to achieve KCC targets

Srinagar, Apr 30: J&K Bank convened the 40th District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting in Budgam on April 28.
District Development Commissioner, Budgam Muhammad Rafi chaired the meet, which among others was attended by Addition DC Muhammad Akbar Ganaie, JD Planning/CPO Farooq Ahmad Yaswi, NABARD representative Des Raj, RBI Manager Dinesh Chandra and J&K Bank Cluster Head-IV Abdul Hamid Khan.
The chairman DLRC, according to a statement issued by J&K Bank today, appreciated all the Banks and departments concerned “for surpassing lending target during FY 2011-2012.”
He said, “It is for the first time that the targets fixed under credit plan have been surpassed.”
Earlier, Lead District Manager Muhammad Yaqoob welcomed the participants and briefed them about the achievement of banks operating in the district for the FY 2011-2012 under the District Credit Plan.
He said, “The district has registered a credit dispensation of Rs 132.95 crore during the year under priority sector and Rs 39.96 crore under non-priority sector.
“Agriculture sector received a credit of Rs 13.74 crore, while as MSMEs received Rs. 43.71 crore, Micro sector Rs 7.94 Crore, Education Rs 6.12 Crore and Housing Rs 65.70 Crore.”
The meeting emphasized that the target of Rs. 165 Crore fixed for the current financial year 2012-2013 shall also be achieved so that more and more beneficiaries are benefited particularly weaker section of the society.
However, the meeting stressed upon the Banks to achieve the targets fixed for Kissan Credit Cards (KCC) so that the facility helps to boost the agricultural sector which is backbone of the district economy.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks from the Chairman DLRC.
