Dilawar shocked over damage by hailstorm
Srinagar, Apr 30: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary Muhammad Dilawar Mir on Monday expressed shock over the damage to fruit and other crops due to the hailstorms lashing parts north Kashmir including Zithen, Kangroosa, Kitherdaji, Pazalpora, Chatroosa, Talzi, Dugerpora Sheikhpora areas and upper reaches of Rafiabab on Sunday.
“The repeated hail storms have bruised and battered the dense apple orchards and other crops in the area,” Mir said in a statement.
He demanded immediate constitution of teams to assess the damage caused to fruit and other crops following heavy hailstorm. “Immediate and adequate relief should be provided to the effected farmers,” he added.
