Injured PDD employee appeals CM
Srinagar, Apr 30: An employee of Power Development Department, who lost his arms during a mishap while on duty in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district, has appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to direct the concerned authorities to grant him compensation.
Abdul Rehman Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat of Islamabad said he was on duty at Aishmuqam while the incident took place recently.
“I was working on 11000 KW high-tension line when I received shock. My arms were amputated and I received partial injuries to my eyes,” Bhat told Greater Kashmir.
He said the concerned authorities did not provide him any compensation. “I make a fervent appeal to CM to intervene in the matter and grant me some compensation so that I can provide education to my two children,” Rehman said.
