Dog threat

This refers to the news "sterilization commences" (GK, 03/05/2012). Sterilization of dogs may be an easy way out but is it the right solution to tackle dog menace? School going children are afraid of walking alone early in the morning as the dogs are on the prowl everywhere. The question is will a dog stop biting after sterilization?
