Porter steps over landmine, injured

Karnah (Kupwara), May 9: Muneer Ahmad Khan, a porter working with Army, sustained injuries when he stepped over a landmine in this frontier village on Wednesday.
Khan was taken to Tangdhar Army hospital from where doctors referred him to Badami Bagh Cantonment Hospital.
Pertinently more than 60 persons working as porters with Army have sustained injuries in landmine blasts in the past few years.
Meanwhile, Army officials said that they would give compensation to Muneer and would bear all the expenses for his treatment.
